Maxine Berry Berkley
Maxine Berry Berkley, 92, of Roanoke Rapids, died Saturday, July 7, 2018.
Maxine was born January 15, 1926 in Hyde County, NC, to the late William Henry and Perlie Bell Rose Berry. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Kent Berkley; their son, Charles Berkley; and two brothers, Robert and Linwood Berry.
She was a longtime member of Lakeview Park Baptist Church, now Victory Baptist Church. She retired from J.P. Stevens after many years of service.
Maxine is survived by her cousin and caregivers, George "GB" Harris and his wife, Eloise Harris, of Roanoke Rapids; several other cousins; and special friend, Cindy Powell, of Roanoke Rapids.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services, 731 Roanoke Ave., Roanoke Rapids, with Rev. Jeremy Kobernat officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
